Well here I am, 2 days later, now with a very sore throat as well as a husky voice . I hope I am past spreading my germs around when I go to quilting on Saturday. We are returning to the Uniting Church Hall after 16 months in temporary accommodation at the Willunga Primary School. The school staff room was great, in that we had brand new facilities, plenty of natural light, airconditioning, hot water on tap etc. Some ladies didn't like the airconditioning, but I have learnt that you can't please everyone!
We were also restricted with table space - I found that if the tables were not pushed together, there was more room to sit around them. I tried desperately to keep the tables spread apart, but as soon as members would start arriving, they would push the tables together again, which meant less seating space. This did drive me nuts, I have to admit it, especially when I got complaints from some members who arrived later - they felt there was nowhere to sit. ( Hence my reason for spreading out!)
Anyway, I am really looking forward to returning to the church hall. We will have plenty of light, aircon in some of the building if we ever need it, a brand new kitchen, lots of table space & many other mod cons!
Now come on ladies, please start contributing to this website. Aldinga Quilters have had a blog for about 3 years - so we are way behind the eight ball! We've got to get with the times!
